How to sell a raffle on WhatsApp
To sell a raffle on WhatsApp, post a short message with the prize, the price per number, the lottery and draw date, and a link where the free numbers can be seen. Share it in your groups, your status and your broadcast lists, ask for the receipt before marking a number paid, and resend the updated sheet every few days. Ready-to-copy messages are below.
1. Write the launch message
A good message reads in five seconds: what is being raffled, what a number costs, when and with which lottery it is drawn, and where to pick a number. Add a photo of the prize: an image sells more than any description.
🎉 Raffle! [prize] 💵 Number: [price] 🎲 Drawn with [lottery] on [date] 👉 Pick your number here: [link] Only a few left!
2. Share a link with the live sheet, not a photo
A photo of the sheet is out of date as soon as someone buys, and then the private «is 27 free?» messages start. A link with the live sheet answers by itself: buyers see which numbers are left and hold theirs without waiting for you to reply.
3. Post it in groups, statuses and broadcast lists
- WhatsApp status: lasts 24 hours and your contacts see it without you writing to anyone. Post it on launch day and whenever few numbers are left.
- Broadcast lists: the message arrives privately, but only to people who have saved your number.
- Groups: ask the admin first and post once with the link; repeating it every day wears people out.
- Ask your first buyers to forward it: they reach people you do not know.
4. Collect with a receipt and a deadline
Say from the start how to pay (account, Nequi, Mercado Pago, Yape…) and how long buyers have to do it. Mark a number paid only when you see the receipt, and release held numbers that were not paid in time: a held, unpaid number is the most common raffle problem.
5. Remind without wearing people out
Two or three reminders are enough: halfway through the sale, when few numbers are left and the day before the draw. What moves people most is seeing the numbers run out.

6. Announce the winner
On draw day, share the official lottery result and the winning number in the same groups where you sold. If the winner agrees, post a photo of the handover: it is the best advertising for your next raffle.
🏆 We have a winner! The [lottery] on [date] drew [result], so number [number] wins. Congratulations, [name]! Thanks, everyone, for taking part.
